Conyers & Lofgren Statement On Trump Administration's Decision to Strip Temporary Protected Status from Nicaraguans

November 7, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representatives John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, and Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) Ranking Member of the House Immigration and Border Security Subcommittee, issued the following joint statement today on the Trump Administration's decision to strip Temporary Protected Status from Nicaraguans:

"The Trump Administration's decision to strip Temporary Protected Status from Nicaraguans who have lived in this country for nearly 20 years is wrong. Instead of working on solutions to improve our economy, strengthen global leadership and expand innovation, this Administration has shown once again that its only immigration policy agenda is mass deportation."
