Lofgren Statement on Continuing Azerbaijani Attacks on Armenian People

SAN JOSE, CA – Since September 27, 2020 Azerbaijan has continuously shelled civilian areas, struck a civilian hospital, bombed a cathedral with historical with significance to the Armenian people, and used cluster bombs in residential areas of Artsakh. Today, Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA-19), released the following statement on the continuing Azerbaijani attacks on Armenian people:

"The United States and international community must not stand by silently as Azerbaijan, with support from NATO member Turkey, attempts to ethnically cleanse their Armenian neighbors. As the number of deaths rise into the hundreds and more than half of the population of Artsakh is displaced due to this attack, America must consider taking steps to rally the international community to help put an end to this violence and bring Armenia and Azerbaijan back to the negotiating table to find a peaceful resolution."
