Lofgren Votes to Release Epstein Files, Calls on Trump to Release Them Now

November 18, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) released the following statement after a nearly unanimous vote in the House and a unanimous vote in the Senate to require the release of the Epstein files:

"Today, I voted with all but one of my colleagues to require the release of the Epstein files," Rep. Lofgren said. "President Trump said he will sign the bill. He could release all the information now, even without the law requiring it.  Also, there is already a subpoena issued to the Department of Justice, and they're under a legal obligation right now to release these files. President Trump could've saved us all some time and released these files earlier, but instead he has prolonged this process and eroded Americans' trust in government. The fact that Trump isn't rushing to release the Epstein files really raises concerns about what is in them as well as concerns about his administration's compliance once the bill becomes law."
