Lofgren Welcomes New District Chief of Staff for CA-19

February 23, 2022

SAN JOSE, CA – Today, U.S. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-19) announced that Esther Peralez-Dieckmann will succeed Sandra Soto as District Chief of Staff for California's 19th Congressional District beginning in early March 2022.

Peralez-Dieckmann will join Team Lofgren after serving as Executive Director of Next Door Solutions for more than four years, where she led the nonprofit's work to combat domestic violence and provide services for survivors in the Santa Clara County community. She previously served as Director of the Santa Clara County Office of Women's Policy for more than a decade.

"Esther brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to service that will allow her to successfully lead the office as we work together to serve our neighbors for years to come," said Rep. Zoe Lofgren. "From an early age, Esther dedicated her career to promoting justice, providing mentorship, and advocating for the welfare of others. Right now, as our community recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, Esther's on-the-ground knowledge of the South Bay will allow her to ensure services are provided to those in need. I look forward to working with Esther to uplift families in our community by focusing on economic prosperity and fairness for all."

After more than 22 years serving Santa Clara County as District Chief of Staff, Sandra Soto has transitioned to a new job.

Lofgren added: "Everyone in Santa Clara County owes a debt of gratitude to Sandra Soto for her years of dedication to making our government work for the people as our District Chief of Staff for CA-19 (and CA-16). I thank her for her outstanding federal service for more than two decades."
