Rep. Zoe Lofgren statement on the redacted Mueller Report
SAN JOSE, CA – Today, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement regarding the release of the report written by Special Counsel Robert Mueller:
"While I am still working my way through the redacted Mueller Report, it’s clear this is not a good report for the President or for Attorney General Barr. The Attorney General’s comments to the public and to the Congress, including some made under oath, are not supported by the report.
"Certainly, the misconduct attributed to President Trump is unbecoming and disturbing.
"The redacted material leaves questions unanswered – this is why the release of the full report is necessary. The additional review in the Judiciary Committee should proceed in a methodical, thorough and orderly way. That is the job required of us. It will be instructive to have the Attorney General before the committee and I suspect we will ultimately hear from Special Counsel Mueller as well."
