Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) today introduced the Single Parent Protection Act of 2009, which would allow an individual who is entitled to receive child support, but not receiving it, a tax credit equal to the amount of unpaid child support. The bill would also increase the tax liability of the individual required to pay such support by the amount of the unpaid child support.
