Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif) and the House of Representatives voted to pass the Dream Act of 2019, legislation that protects "Dreamers"—undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children—from deportation. The bill would offer Dreamers who are eligible an opportunity to obtain lawful permanent residence if they meet certain requirements.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif) and the House Judiciary Committee voted to pass the Dream Act of 2019, legislation that protects "Dreamers"—many of whom are undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children—from deportation. The bill would also offer Dreamers who are eligible an opportunity to obtain lawful permanent residence if they meet certain requirements.

Washington, D.C.--Today, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif) and the House of Representatives voted to pass the Equality Act of 2019, landmark legislation that would amend the Civil Rights Act to outlaw discrimination based on Americans' sexual orientation and gender identity in employment and housing, as well as public accommodations, federal funding, public education, credit, and the jury system. Following today's vote, Rep. Lofgren released the following statement:

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif) and the House Judiciary Democratic Majority voted to hold U.S. Attorney General William Barr in contempt for failing to comply with the Committee's subpoena for the full, unredacted report prepared by Special Counsel Robert Muller and the underlying evidence related to the Special Counsel's investigation.

SAN JOSE, CAToday, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement regarding the release of the report written by Special Counsel Robert Mueller:

"While I am still working my way through the redacted Mueller Report, it's clear this is not a good report for the President or for Attorney General Barr. The Attorney General's comments to the public and to the Congress, including some made under oath, are not supported by the report.

Today, after Zoe Lofgren managed floor debate for three days, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the For the People Act, a sweeping reform bill to clean up corruption in Washington, make it easier to vote, and give every day Americans more power in our democracy by a 234 – 193 vote.
Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose), Anna G. Eshoo (D-Palo Alto), Ro Khanna (D-Santa Clara), and Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel) applauded the closure of the bankruptcy sale of the O’Connor and Saint Louise hospitals to Santa Clara County.
Today, by a 6-3 vote, the Committee on House Administration passed H.R. 1, the For the People Act, to clean up corruption in Washington, make it easier to vote, and give every day Americans more power in our democracy.
