Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D — San Jose), questioning the Republican leadership’s agenda and priorities for working on meaningful legislation before Congress breaks for recess until after the November elections, today delivered the following remarks on the floor regarding H. Res. 106, the Marriage Protection Amendment:

The House Judiciary Committee today passed the “Internet Spyware (I-SPY) Prevention Act of 2004, H.R. 4661, which was introduced by Representatives Bob Goodlatte (R-VA-06), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA-16) and Lamar Smith (R-TX-21). This bipartisan legislation addresses the most egregious activities that are conducted via spyware and makes those activities criminal offenses.

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) today announced that over $18.6 million in federal funding has been awarded to San Jose from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“San Jose needs affordable housing and this is a good start to ensuring that deserving families will have the opportunity to own their own homes,” said Congresswoman Lofgren. “This funding will strengthen our community and provide assistance to those who need it most.”
