“I hoped for more from the President tonight in his State of the Union address. Unfortunately for the thousands of unemployed workers in Silicon Valley, the President suggested we continue and even accelerate his tax policies that have not done anything to create jobs and grow the economy but have brought us back to massive budget deficits.

Washington, DC‹Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) hailed today’s vote to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The program enables to homeowners to obtain flood insurance backed by the federal government in communities across the country that have voluntarily agreed to institute flood control measure and land-use policies to reduce flooding.
U.S. Reps. Zoe Lofgren and Mike Honda announced today that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded numerous grants to several South Bay organizations that provide housing, rental assistance and care for individuals and families in Santa Clara County who are in need of housing, shelter, care and rental assistance. Organizations represented in the announcement represents governmental, charitable, and educational entities in the South Bay.
Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-16) today announced a $448,085 Legal Assistance for Victims Grant to the Legal Aid Society of Santa Clara County. This two-year grant will provide funding for comprehensive legal services to victims of domestic violence at their Domestic Violence Legal Resource Center. The grant from the Violence Against Women Office’s (VAWO) Legal Assistance for Victims Grant Program is administered by the U.S. Department of Justice.
